Anita L Hill

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Anita Hill of Edison, New Jersey.

Anita, a beloved mother, grandmother and daughter of Peter and Augustine Gera, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday April 13th, 2022 at 88 years of age.  She was born October 15th, 1933 in Paterson NJ.  A graduate of Hawthorne High School, class of 1951. She met and fell in love with Alfred J Hill and they married on December 26th, 1953. They lived in Hawthorne, Edison, Scotch Plains and Normandy Beach before returning to Edison.            

Anita was an avid gardener, fantastic cook, and a lover of animals. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, hosting holidays with family, and traveling.

Anita was predeceased by her husband Alfred, brother Robert Gera, daughter Linda Harkins and son Alfred Hill III.  She is survived by her son David Hill and wife Susan, daughter-in-law Diane Hill (widow of Alfred), and son-in-law Jack Harkins (widow of Linda). She is cherished by her 7 grandchildren Sherry Karcich (husband Jay), AJ Hill (wife Rachel), Heather Harkins, Jessica Chin (husband Daniel), Jack Harkins Jr., Alex Harkins, Lauren Hill (fiancé Brandon), 4 great grandchildren, and her Niece Cindy Howard (husband Steve).  

Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, April 20th from 5:00-9:00pm at the Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, NJ, 08820. Funeral service will be held at Gosselin Funeral Home on Thursday, April 21st at 10:00am with burial to follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.
