Andrew J Birch

Andrew “Andy” Birch passed away peacefully with his wife Kim by his side. Andy was born and
raised on Staten Island and relocated his residence to Edison, NJ. Andy is survived by his wife
Kim and the two enjoyed a 40 year marriage. They have two children his son Michael Birch, his
daughter Courtney Booth, and three grandchildren, Adrianna, Stella, and Wesley. And his
brother and partner, Gregory Birch.
Andy was a graduate of Susan Wagner High School on Staten Island. He received his bachelor’s
degree from Rutgers University and went on to receive his medical degree from New York
College of Podiatric Medicine.
Following medical school, Andy joined his brother Greg, also a podiatrist, in a partnership on
Manor Road on Staten Island where he practiced podiatry until his death.
Andy was a devoted family man who loved his annual family vacations. He adored his two
children Michael and Courtney. More than anything he loved being a “Grandpa.” He had a
special relationship with each of his grandchildren and was always a constant presence in their
lives. He loved hosting the holidays with his wife Kim, children, and grandchildren.
Andy was a master grill man who loved outdoor barbeques and parties. He was a Godfather
film and book aficionado, who could compete with anyone in Godfather trivia.
He was a die hard New York Giants football fan and an avid Yankee fan. For many years, he was
committed to the Gateway Rotary Club and served as president for one term.
Andy’s wit and laughter will be sorely missed by all that knew him. His patients were second
only to his family and he was committed to their health. His unique bedside manor calmed and
comforted his patients who would always describe him as an ultimate professional.
