Ada Anne Enfield, 91, of Edison, NJ passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 20, 2024 with her loving family by her side. She was born to Chester Arthur Bickford and Emma Frances Preble, on July 1, 1932 in Union Beach, New Jersey.
Ada was widowed by her first husband Ronald G. Coleman. They had three loving daughters, Ronda, Debra, and Colleen. In August, 1971, Ada married her loving husband Eugene A. Enfield and they were blessed with a son, Eugene Jr..
A lifelong resident of Edison, Ada held various positions in real estate, retail, and hospitality. She was actively involved in church as a member of St. Helena and the Parish of St. Theresa. She frequently volunteered, leading and organizing church outings.
Ada was the president of the Edison HK Fireman’s Ladies Auxiliary and member of the American Legion Post #127 in Iselin, American Legion Post #65 in Metuchen, Middlesex County Ladies Fireman’s Auxiliary, NJ State Firemen’s Ladies Auxiliary, Oak Tree Seniors, and NJ Chapter of the Deborah Hospital Foundation.
Ada was a talented organist and she often traveled, played cards with family and friends, and listened to the music of Engelbert Humperdinck. She researched and discovered details about her family's past and united with loved ones. Her family has fond memories of the yearly trips to Wildwood Crest.
Ada will be remembered by her loving husband of 52 years, Eugene A. Enfield Sr.; daughter, Debra Coleman Nally; daughter Colleen Pender and husband Chris; son Eugene A. Enfield, Jr. and wife Grace; ten grandchildren: Jesse Armstrong and wife Elizabeth, Amanda Pender, Michael Cook, Mary Ramos and husband Chris, Tyler Pender, Rachael Viaene and husband Tim, Colin Nally and wife Ashley, Jeremy Pender, Alexander Enfield, Andrew Enfield; seven great-grandchildren: Henry, Josie, Daniel, Nicklaus, Christopher, Haley, Ronald.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ronda Cook.
Visitation Tuesday January 23, 2024 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at the Gosselin Funeral Home 660 New Dover Road, NJ . Day of funeral visitation Wednesday January 24, 2024 from 8:45am to 9:45am at the funeral home followed by a 10:15 Mass at St Francis Cathedral, Metuchen. Interment St Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
