Thomas Gruskos

Thomas S. Gruskos passed away peacefully on July 25, 2019 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick NJ surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born in Newark NJ and resided in East Brunswick  before moving to Colonia in 2004. He was a faithful and dedicated Land Surveyor for 33 years for Brunswick Surveying Inc in Piscataway. 

Tom graduated from East Brunswick High School and then attended Berklee College of Music in Boston. His passion was music and was known for his guitar, bass, and piano playing. He was wise beyond his times with a great sense of humor. He avidly practiced Tai Chi and Qi Gong. Tom’s hobbies included collecting N scale trains, listening to jazz and classical music, walking his dog and spending quality time with his family.

Thomas was predeceased by his father Stanley Gruskos and his step-father Stanley Tokarski. Surviving are his wife of 20 years Susan Gruskos, his daughter Theresa Gruskos, his mother Dolores Gruskos-Tokarski, sisters, Linda Huttenbach and her husband Jeff, Cindy Doran and her husband Tim, brother, Alan Gruskos and his wife Rochelle, sister-in-law Lorraine Mayercak and his aunts Miriam and Helen Jacik. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his loyal dog Lucky Louie. Tom was a devoted and loving husband, son, father, brother, friend, as well as an exceptional musician.  He will be deeply missed by many.

Visitation Sunday July 28, 2019 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Gosselin Funeral Home 660 New Dover Road Edison. Funeral Services Monday July 29, 2019 8:30am at the funeral home followed by a 10:00am Mass at Holy Trinity Church, Westfield. Interment St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
