Russell K. “Rusty” Cutchin, 63, of Colonia, NJ, passed away at home on Saturday, July 29th after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. His loving family was at his side. Rusty was predeceased in life by his wife, Kathleen Lynch-Cutchin, his mother, Wilma June Cutchin (nee Rogers), his father, Joseph Wayne Cutchin, his brothers, Roger Wayne Cutchin and Randy Cole Cutchin.  Surviving are his daughter, Christina June Cutchin, his fiancée, Pamela Maiello, and many loving relatives and friends.

Rusty was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, and moved to New York City in 1984 to pursue a career in the music industry. His infinite passion for music was evident in his life-long career as a musician, musicologist, recording engineer, producer, and journalist. He worked as an editor, producer, songwriter, and writer. His work appeared in Cashbox, Billboard, Hits, Musician, Country Fever, and International Musician and Recording World. He interviewed and worked with many rising and established performers including Madonna, Queen Latifa, and C&C Music Factory.  He also founded Rusty Cutchin Multimedia (RCM) which provided content and editorial services for arts-related publishers and producers. 

Rusty‘s life was more than his music. His other passion was bringing joy to his friends and family, and he had a generosity of spirit to match the size of his beloved Texas.

Private cremation services were held under the direction of the GOSSELIN FUNERAL HOME, Edison, NJ.
