Patrick J. "Pat" Donnelly

Patrick J. “Pat” Donnelly of Edison, passed away Friday, March 1, 2019. Born in Jersey City, he spent the formative years of his youth growing-up in Colonia, NJ with his two sisters and eight brothers. Pat later moved to Edison, NJ where he was active in coaching his children's recreational basketball and baseball teams.

Pat was predeceased by his beloved parents Cal and Betty Donnelly (maiden Kenny) and his brothers Eugene and Steven. Surviving him are his children, Shannon, Kelly, Erin and her husband Jaime, Patrick and his wife Nicole; his beloved grandchildren, Jaime, Lily, Fiona, Nora, and Mabel; his two sisters and six brothers; and his many, many nieces and nephews.

To know Pat was to know that he was a free-spirit with an insatiable appetite for life, a lover of music and nature, and an exceptionally talented craftsman. He was a compassionate and patient soul who saw and appreciated the individual beauty in everyone. Above all, he was devoted to his family and friends and loved them fiercely.

Visitations will be held Tuesday March 5, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, NJ. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 9:30 AM at the funeral home followed by a 10:45 AM Funeral Mass at St John Vianney Church, Colonia. Cremation will be private.

Pat was an avid follower of current events and passionately believed in building a more equitable society, protecting and preserving nature, and safeguarding the core tenants of our democratic institutions.
