Joan M. Banbor
Edison, NJ - Mrs. Joan Banbor, 85, of Edison, passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side on Monday, October 15, 2018. She was born and raised in Irvington, NJ, and married the love of her life, Ray, on June 19, 1955 before moving to the house her husband built in Edison in 1956.
Joan was first a beautiful and devoted wife, mother, nanny, and friend. Her greatest joy was being involved in her children and grandchildren’s lives. Joan loved Jesus, going to church, and bible studies. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends, and made every birthday, holiday, and just an ordinary day magical. She really enjoyed cooking, baking, entertaining, and decorating for the holidays, the excitement of snow, country music, going to the beach, and camping at her favorite places, Bass River and Lake Arrowhead.
She worked early on for Irvington Varnish and later Regina Steemer Company, and Breza Bus Company. She was also a Girl Scout Troop Leader, a member of the PTA and involved in the Rosary at the church.
Joan was born on October 19, 1932 in Irvington, NJ, a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Dolch. She was survived by her beloved husband Raymond Banbor of 63 years whom she loved and adored; brother Andrew Dolch (Catherine), her six children, Cynthia M. Spiegel (Robert), Kathleen M. Keelyn, Cheryl M. Szwast (Leon), Kristine M. Burr (Raymond), Raymond J. Banbor (Kathleen), and Michael J. Banbor (Nicole); loving grandmother of Megan Toomey (Daniel), Bethany Spiegel, Glenn Spiegel, Rebekah Burr, Nicholas Keelyn, Jeffrey Banbor, Rachel Burr, Hannah Szwast, Zechariah Szwast, Sophia Banbor, and Victoria Banbor. Joan is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all that were blessed to know her.
