Erma Salvatore Obituary

Erma M Salvatore passed away Saturday April 14, 2018 at the Woodlands in Plainfield. She was born in Newark, NJ, daughter of the late Joseph and Jean Kannaley ( nee Nosti). She is predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Edward, and her sister Elizabeth. She married her devoted husband; Nicholas J Salvatore and they were happily married for 54 years until Nicholas passed away in 2003. Erma is survived by her loving two children, Ann Marie and her husband, Gary Pacciano of Edison, NJ and Thomas Salvatore of Deltona, FL. her adored seven grandchildren, Keith and his wife Jennifer, Kevin and his wife Kerry, Jonathan and his wife Tara, Meagan and her husband Peter, Stephen, Nicholas and Lauren her seven great grandchildren, Justin, Nicholas, Emily, Madison, Jackson, Anthony and Vincent. She is also survived by her sister-in-laws, Gladys Salvatore, Fay Salvatore and Patricia Kannaley and cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews also many cousins and extended family members.

Erma loved her family and friends and was very active in her church and local community. She served as PTA Board Member, substitute teacher at St James elementary school, Woodbridge, NJ, President of the Alter Rosary Society and Chairperson of the Right to Life Group. As an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus she ran memorable trips to Villa Roma in the Catskills, volunteered each year at the Hands in Hands festival, organized game night, bingo, and other service related and fun activities. She was also a member of her local card club and enjoyed the monthly get togethers with her neighbors and friends.

Everyone who knew Erma, was touched by her love of God, Family and friends. She treasured a houseful of company including the wonderful times in her summer home in Point Pleasant, NJ, where everyone knew they were always welcome with open arms and hearts. Her loving, positive attitude and faith filled life served as a model to all. Erma will be dearly missed.

Visitation Tuesday April 17, 2018 from 9:00am to 10:00am at the Gosselin Funeral Home 660 new Dover Road, Edison, NJ, followed by a 10:30 Mass at St Helena Church, Edison. Cremation will be private.
