Emily H. (Holland) Meckler

            Emily H. Meckler, of Colonia died Wednesday, March 16th at the RWJ @ Rahway Hospital.  She was 87. Born in Woodbridge, she lived in Rahway for 7 years before moving to Colonia in 1970. Emily graduated Houghton College in Houghton, New York, where she received her teaching degree in 1950. She worked as an elementary school teacher for the Woodbridge Township Board of Education for 12 years before retiring in 1963.  She returned to substitute teaching in 1981 at the junior and senior high school levels until 1993.

            Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Robert R. Meckler; and sons and daughter-in-law, Timothy & Alyson Meckler of Iselin and John Meckler of Colonia.  She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.

            Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 21st at 10 AM at the GOSSELIN FUNERAL HOME, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, followed by an 11 AM service at the New Dover United Methodist Church, Edison.  Cremation will be held privately.

            Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 20th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
