Donald Slavin

Donald Slavin, 78, of Edison, New Jersey, passed away on October 14, 2017.

A visitation will be held at the Gosselin Funeral Home in Edison, NJ at 11:00 am on Wednesday to 12 noon, followed by a Funeral Service at 12 Noon.  Interment at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, in Iselin.

Donald was born in Newark where he graduated from South Side High School and Rutgers University.  Prior to moving to Edison, he resided in Hillside. 

Don taught in the Newark Public schools for one year and in the South Plainfield school district for 39 years.  Don also served as an umpire for youth baseball/softball, and as a referee for youth basketball.

Don was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Mae Slavin, and brothers, Dr. Martin Slavin and David Slavin. He is survived by his wife, Mary, and son, Joshua Matthew, daughter-in-law, Melissa Elwyn, and grandchildren Scarlett Elwyn Slavin and Patrick Elwyn Slavin.
