Cosmo A. Esposito, of Colonia died on Thursday, July 13th at home. He was 88.
Born in Stamford, Connecticut, he lived in Elizabeth, Linden before moving to Colonia in 1967.
Cos worked as a Construction Foreman for Local #394 in Elizabeth for over 40 years before retiring in the mid-1990s. He was also a parishioner of St. John Vianney’s RC Church, Colonia.
He was a US Army veteran, serving during the end of WWII and the beginning of the Korean War.
A talented tradesman in bricklaying and concrete work, Cos loved doing his own home improvements, cooking, shopping, New England Patriots football, trips to Atlantic City, spending time near the ocean and especially being with his family.
His wife, Edith Esposito died in 1987. He was also predeceased by his parents, Frank & Jennie Esposito; and brothers, Alfred and Louis Esposito.
Surviving are his son, Joseph Esposito of Colonia; daughters and sons-in-law, Jennie Esposito of Colonia, Linda & Willie Johnson of Edison and Roxanne & Fred Smith of Colonia; brother, Enlio “Lee” Esposito of Coconut Creek, Florida; sister, Jane Maikish of Stamford, Connecticut; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and niece, Cathy Esposito of Florida.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 16th from 2-6 PM at the GOSSELIN FUNERAL HOME, 660 New Dover Road, Edison. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 17th at 9:45 AM at the funeral home, followed by a 10:45 AM Mass at St. John Vianney RC Church, Colonia. Cremation will be held privately.
