Blanche Guirguis, the beloved matriarch of the Guirguis family passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, June 5th, 2019. Teta Blanche was born in 1919 in a small village in Egypt and immigrated to the United States in the 1970s with her children. She is predeceased by her husband Fakhry Guirguis, her two sons Shokry (husband of Magda) and Adel Guirguis (husband of Claire), and her grandson Basil Guirguis, who she is now rejoicing with before our Lord.
Surviving Blanche are her sons Edward (husband of Ismini), George (Husband of Soad), Adib (husband of Venice), and Makram (husband of Salwa) and her daughters Georgette (wife of the late George Girgis), Aida (wife of the late Eskander Helmy) and Mervat (wife of Maged Badawy).
Blanche was also the proud grandmother of Robert Guirguis, Marie Guirguis (wife of Adel Yousef), Vivian Mouris (wife of Maged Mouris), Janelle Guirguis-Blake (wife of Jeff Blake), Gina Masoud (wife of Rafik Masoud), , Michael Guirguis (husband of Maggie Guirguis), Marina Jackson (wife of Paul Jackson), Joe Guirguis, Bishoy Guirguis (husband of Christine Guirguis), Mina Guirguis (husband of Elizabeth Guirguis), John Guirguis (husband of Caroline Guirguis), Arsanious Guirguis (husband of Jolene Guirguis), Pavli Guirguis, Christina Badawy (wife of Emad Mansour), Peter Badawy (husband of Bianca Badawy), and Kerolos Badawy. She was also the blessed great-grandmother to 28 great-grandchildren.
The celebration of Teta Blanche's life will be Sunday, June 9th from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church, 433 Riva Ave., East Brunswick. The funeral mass will be Monday, June 10th from 8:00-10:00 a.m. also at St. Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church. Following the mass, the burial will be at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden. All are welcome to an agape meal in the church after the burial.
