It is with heavy hearts our family shares the loss of our Grandmother, Mother and beloved friend, Barbara Danzi. She was a force like no other, always keeping everyone on their toes and providing those closest to her decades of comedy. While we go on without her, she will certainly always be there, shouting at Yankee Managers, changing the world one political Facebook post at a time, reminiscing about life in Jersey City, on the phone with her dear friends, drinking Brandy Alexanders at the slots in Atlantic City...but most of all, at dinners with her family, where she always cooked way too much macaroni (as she called it).
Barbara passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the age of 77. She was born in Jersey City and raised her children in Colonia. She was a loving, devoted mother to five children and dedicated her life to raising them.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony Danzi, and her children Lisa DeChirico and her husband Thomas DeChirico, Frank (“Cheech”) Danzi and his wife Sharon Danzi, Anthony Danzi and his wife Theresa Danzi, Benjamin Danzi and his wife Erin Danzi and Jason Danzi. Also, her grandchildren Dominique and her husband Ryan, Daria, Deanna, Nicole, Jessica, Ben, Ethan, Carly, Anthony, Nico and her great-grandchildren Brady and Andy. Lastly, she is survived by loyal and loving friends of 60+ years whom she considered family.
Visitation Tuesday May 1, 2018 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM with a 3:00PM Blessing. She will be laid to rest in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
