Arthur W. Darton, Jr., of Colonia died Monday, November 19, 2012 at Haven Hospice at the JFK Medical Center in Edison surrounded by his loving wife and friends.  He was 78.
     Born in Englewood, he lived in Union City, Cliffside Park and Ridgefield Park before moving to Colonia in 1974.  He also maintained a summer home in Bricktown since 1965.
     He was a 1953 graduate of Cliffside Park High School and also graduated from the Teterboro School of Aeronautics.
     He worked as an Air Craft & Power Plant Mechanic for TWA Airlines at the JFK, LaGuardia and Newark Airports for 34 years before retiring in August 1991.  He was also an active union member.
     He was a member of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers – I.A.M., as well as the Local District #142.  He was also a member of the TWA Garden State Club and the TWA National Seniors Club.  He was also an avid fan of NJ High School wrestling and enjoyed playing cards and using the computer.  He was an avid music fan and enjoyed dancing and playing bass in his band.  He also spent every summer at the Jersey Shore, where he built his own home in Bricktown in 1965.
     He is predeceased by his parents, Arthur & Alice Darton; and brother, Robert Darton.
     Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 38 years, Annamae Rohanic-Darton; daughter, Desiree Darton of Lakewood, Ohio; sister, Jane Darton and her husband, Jerry Simandle of Moorestown; sister-in-law, Rosemary Rohanic of Franklin, North Carolina; granddaughter, Sydney Darton and her fiancé Brian Staffieri of Willimantic, CT; great-grandson, Domenyck Darton; and many nieces, nephews & cousins.
     A Blessing will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at the GOSSELIN FUNERAL HOME, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, followed by a burial in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-6 PM at the funeral home.
