Trinidad Alay-ay Chan, 67 years old of Edison, NJ passed away at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center after putting up a fight with acute myeloid leukemia on August 3rd. Her loving family was at her side. Trini is survived by her children, Daniella and Virgil, her sisters, Magdalena and Lailani, brothers, Abraham, Truman, Severino, and Dominador and many loving relatives and friends.
Trini was born in Ilocos Sur, Philippines and moved to the United States in 1969. She was dedicated to her career microbiology and worked in Newark Beth Israel Medical Center for 41 years. She loved to educate the community of the Philippine heritage and culture and was President of the Filipino Community at the NBIMC and former President of the Filipino Friends and Family of North Edison. Also, Trini was an avid traveler and loved to garden. She exuded such strength, positivity & humor that touched the lives of many.
Flowers will kindly be accepted as well memorial donations to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Wake services will be held at 6pm-9pm on Thursday, August 10 and Friday, August 11 at the Gosselin Funeral Home. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, August 12, 10am at St. Helena Church.
