Toula Nicolas, of Edison passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the JFK Medical Center in Edison with her family by her side. She was 82 

Toula was born in Patras, Greece coming to the US when she was 6 years old settling in Plainfield, NJ. In 1956, Toula was crowned Miss Greek Independence representing the New Brunswick Greek Comunity.

She worked as an Executive Secretary for Laser Diode in Edison for 20 years retiring 1998. She loved to sew, travel, and sun bathe at the beach. She was very active and enjoyed going to the gym three days a week with her daughter. She also enjoyed watching general hospital with her best four legged friend, Reva.

Toula was a parishioner of the St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway, and a long standing member of the Ladies Philoptopous.

She is predeceased by her husband Stratton “Nick” Nicolas, her parents, Andrew and Penelope Dazos and her brother Dino Dazos. Surviving are her children, Peter Nicolas and his wife Anna of Rumson; Vicki Nicolas and Penny Nicolas, both of Edison; her sisters Mary Stefanos of Colonia and Carol Vagelatos of Bluffton, South Carolina also 7 grandchildren Tabitha, Nathan, Hannah, Gabby, Sammy, Andrew and Abigail (Princess Butterfly).

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at the GOSSELIN FUNERAL HOME, 660 New Dover Road, Edison with a Prayer Service at 6:00 PM.  Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 9,2017 at 10 AM at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Piscataway.  All to meet at church.  Burial to follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
