Teresa Ciani

Teresa (Terry) Ciani  88, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Care One at the Highlands, Edison surrounded by her loving family.  She was born and lived in Jersey City, NJ before moving to Edison in November of 2009. 

In the early years of John and Terry’s Marriage, Terry worked at Westinghouse for seven years as an Order Writing Clerk and then was promoted to Intake Documentation Auditor.  Terry and her husband John were then blessed with their daughter Toni Marie. In the following years, Terry spent most of her time caring for Toni and her cousins. Terry was actively involved Toni’s school activities at Our Lady of Victories and The Academy of St. Aloysius. She also spent some of her days as a substitute teacher and the students would cheer as she arrived in their classrooms. Terry returned to work as an Accounts Payable Clerk for Alpha Metals in Jersey City for 25 years. She continued to be active in her parishes. She was a member of the Rosary Society for Our Lady of Victories and Our Lady of Mercy for many years. Teresa was also a volunteer for the Red Cross.

In the years after her retirement, Terry got to spend her time with her granddaughters Kelly and Kimberly where she continued to be active in all of their school’s activities as well as sporting events. She was their greatest and favorite cheerleader.  Many of Terry’s fondest memories were spent in Spring Lake, NJ on their annual family vacation. Terry will be remembered as a sweet and loving person who touched the lives of so many. She will be remembered for her warm smile, bear hugs, love of dogs, chocolate chip cookies, and tea.

Surviving are her husband John Ciani of 66 years; one daughter Toni Ciani Feeney and her husband Terry of Rahway; 2 granddaughters Kelly and Kimberly Feeney who were the light of her life and many loving nieces and nephews.

            Visitation will be held on Sunday February 25, 2018 at 2:00PM to 6:00PM at the GOSSELIN FUNERAL HOME, 660 New Dover Road, Edison.  Funeral Services will be held on Monday February 26, 2018 at 9:00AM at the funeral home followed by a 10:00AM Mass at St Helena’s Church, Edison. Entombment at St Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
