Ted R. Corvino, of Iselin died Sunday, February 19th at the Ashbrook Nursing Home in Scotch Plains. He was 88.
Born and raised in Orange, he lived in Irvington before moving to Iselin in 1962.
He attended Orange High School where he excelled in both basketball and baseball. Ted remained a fan of both games his entire life as well as being an avid bowler. He was also a parishioner of St. Cecelia’s RC Church, Iselin.
He was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He received a combat infantry badge and a Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star.
Ted was predeceased by his brothers, Horace and Ralph Corvino.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 62 years, Jean M. Corvino; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard & Denise Corvino of New York City and Ted W. & Florangel Corvino of Piscataway; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne & Lenny Daniele of Iselin; and grandchildren, Valerie Corvino, Alex Daniele, Carly Daniele and Dani Brito.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd from 4 – 9 PM at the GOSSELIN FUNERAL HOME, 660 New Dover Road, Edison. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 23rd at 9 AM at the funeral home, followed by a 10 AM Mass at St. Cecelia’s RC Church, Iselin. Cremation will be held privately.
