Dear Brady Family,

Like many others who have posted, I did not know your father personally, but was a fellow participant in your father's last 5K. I was very saddened to hear of his passing. I have had many loved ones pass away in my life and even when they are doing something they love at the time, I know it is still hard to accept the loss. My sincerest condolences.

I send my deepest sympathy to the family. I am a member of CJRRC and was working at a water stop during the race, but did not know Mr. Brady personally. From what I have read about him, his passing must be a great loss to his family.

I was very saddened to hear of Mr. Brady's passing.  Though I didn't know him personally, I was a participant at the Hangover 5K and also a member of CJRRC.  I recently lost my father so I know how painful it is to lose someone close.  Please try and remember the good times.  It's obvious from reading everyone's posts that Mr. Brady left a lasting impression on those he met.  May he R.I.P.

With heartfelt sympathy,

Angela Lynch

I noticed donations were to be made to the American "Heart Association. I am a Physical Education teacher and am coordinating a Jump Rope for Heart event at my school which benefits the American Heart Association. I'd like to make Pat our special intention this year. I'd love to get more information about his life to show my students how prescious life it and how inportant donations are.

Words just don't do justice to express how deep the loss of Patrick is to us.  We have so many pleasant memories of seeing Patrick at races and enjoying even a few brief minutes chatting before or after.  Every event was just a little bit nicer and just a little bit friendlier when Patrick was there.  We knew that Patrick loved being a part of our Central Jersey Road Runners Club and the running community, in general, especially after he moved over 100 miles away and he would still travel back for races.

When I asked him at one early morning race "what time did you leave to get here?" and then "why?", he simply responded "this is what I enjoy doing".

We send our deepest sympathies to his wife, Bertha, his son, Kevin and the rest of his family.  We thank them all for allowing Patrick to touch so many lives in such a positive way.

To the Brady Family -- I am so sorry for your loss.  While I did not have the pleasure of knowing Mr. Brady, I happened to line up next to him at the start of the 5K on New Years Day.  We chatted for a few minutes about the course; he mentioned that the course had changed a few times over the years and I mentioned this was my first time running the race.  He asked me where the starting line was and when I pointed it out, he remarked with a smile that he didn't start up at the front anymore.  It was a brief chat but, as a new runner, it helped me to calm some pre-race jitters. My sincerest condolences on your loss.  Michele Coyne, Westfield, NJ

To Kevin and the Brady Family, our sincere condolences for the loss of your Dad. I remember when you visited us in November and we talked about our parents. You spoke of how proud both you and he was of his 19 marathons both NYC and Boston if I recall, his passion for running and the great relationship you both had. Cherish those memories. You and the Brady family are in our thoughts and prayers for your loss during this difficult time. With Deepest Sympathy - Ken and Maureen

Just a great guy. Despite his loss it is easy to remember the good.
Knew him from races going back to the 80's. I live in northern New Jersey, and we would often talk about Jersey City and Hudson County in addition to the running.
Really enjoyed his company and the pleasant competiton we always had with each other.

To the Brady Family, my deepest condolences.  I did not know Mr. Brady but I was at the 5k race and thought to myself, "what an inspiration of a man" I was proud to be running that day and hoped to emulate his dedication & strength. I said a prayer for him and wish him a happy pace in Heaven.  -EV

I am still in shock and deeply saddened by what I witnessed on New Years Day. Pat was a tremendously nice man, who was very proud of his family. I have probably seen him at over 100 races during the last 25 years and we always exchanged greetings, sometimes warming up together.  The last words we ever said were about 30 minutes before the race when he noted that he was surprised at the amount of snow in the park.

Many people have expressed the sentiment that he died doing something he enjoyed but that is tempered by the terrible reality that we won't see him at races and other running events and a great husband, father, brother and grandfather is gone.

RIP Patrick.

Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of my good friend Pat.  I enjoyed all the years that Pat and I ran together in Edison and Colonia. His friendship meant a great deal to me.

I was hoping to see Pat in 2013 when I will be able to start running again.  I will keep him and all of his family in my prayers.
