Patricia A. (Rosta) Black

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the death of Patricia A. Black (nee Rosta), our beloved and devoted mother and grandmother, who died on Sunday November  22. 

Born and raised in Perth Amboy and Woodbridge, Pat graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1954. Upon graduation, Pat attended nursing school. In 1956, Pat met and married Alan C. Black of Rahway.   In addition to raising her 6 children, Pat was proprietor of Pat Black Jewelers in the 1980s, worked for Michael Patrick Real Estate Agency, Sanofi  Beaute Inc, and retired as executive administrative assistant at Riviana Foods in 2001.

Pat was involved with the church teaching Sunday school, the Eastern Star, coached girls softball, served on the board of North Edison Little League and was President of the JP Stevens Booster Club.  For many years, Pat enjoyed bowling at Brunswick Lanes in North Edison.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Patricia of Lincoln Park, NJ; James and Laura of Ledgewood, NJ; John and Susan of Allentown, NJ; Alan Jr and Lisa of Newark, DE; Thomas Black of Edison; daughter and son-in-law Bonnie and Steve Chaballa of Howell, NJ and 10 grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November  27th 10 AM with a blessing offered at 11 AM  at the Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison.

 Interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden.
