Michael D. Cintron

Michael D. Cintron, of Howell died Sunday, March 22nd in the Dominican Republic. He was 68.
Born in New York City and raised in Brooklyn and the Bronx, he lived in Bergenfield and New Milford before moving to Howell in 2009.
Mike served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, serving both domestically and abroad. A career optician, Michael worked throughout New Jersey, his name widely known.
He enjoyed the outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing, shooting, or simply soaking up the view. He particularly enjoyed the views of his sons skiing down mountains large or small. Mike was a member of the Lions Club, National Rifle Association (NRA), Central Jersey Rifle & Pistol Club, and contributed tirelessly to the Police Athletic League.
A devoted baseball fan, Michael attended Yankees games every season and even spent several nights camping out for tickets for the 1996 playoffs. He instilled that same passion in his sons whom he coached during their youth, and even when it was not baseball season, he cheered on his boys in any of their recreational sports.
Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Craig & Kim Cintron of Colonia, and Christian Cintron and his wife Katrina Loh of Manchester, Connecticut; their mother, Stephanie Cintron of Bergenfield; partner, Joanne Yarema-Stosko of Howell; mother, Josephine Cintron of Deltona, Florida; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mickey & Gloria Cintron of Deltona, Florida, and Edward & Evelyn Cintron of Brewster, New York; grandson, Carter; and a number of loving nieces & nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27th from 5-9 PM at the GOSSELIN FUNERAL HOME, 660 New Dover Road, Edison. Funeral Mass will be held at 9 AM on Saturday, March 28th at St. John Vianney RC Church, Colonia. All to meet at church. Burial to follow in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
