Marie S (Bongiorno) Scalera

Marie S. (Bongiorno) Scalera entered into eternal life on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Seacrest Village, Little Egg Harbor. Marie was born in Newark, NJ in 1929 and resided in her beloved Maplewood for 40 years before moving to Brick. She worked as a teller at the Crestmont Federal Savings in Maplewood for 25 years before retiring. She was a soloist at St. Joseph's RC Church in Maplewood for 50 years, as well as at St. Leo's in Irvington and many surrounding churches. She was formerly the president of St. Joseph's Rosary Society and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court Patricia.

Marie was the loving wife of the late Vincent M. Scalera and the devoted mother of three sons: Vincent Jr. & Paula (Milan, Italy), John & Jodi (Galloway), and Michael & Doreen (Colonia). Devoted grandmother of Gregory, John, Steven, & Nina Scalera. Dear sister of Dominick and the late Joseph Bongiorno. Sister-in-law of Phyllis and Delphine Scalera, and the late Dan Scalera and Jessie and Dorothy Bongiorno. Friend to many, loved by all.

Visitation will be Wednesday January 3, 2018 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM at the funeral home. DO TO WEATHER FUNERAL RESCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY 1/5/2018
