Margaret M (Tanchak) Adamko

   Margaret M. Tanchak Adamko, who was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey and lived the majority of her life in Colonia before retiring to Somerset, New Jersey and Palm Desert, California, died March 1, 2015 at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California, surrounded by her close family.  She was 78 years old.

    A devout Catholic, she was pre-deceased by both parents, Andrew and Margaret Tanchak and a brother, Albert Tanchak, all of Perth Amboy.She is survived by her husband, of 56 years, Joseph M. Adamko, who recently retired from the Board of Directors of Sterling National Bank, New York City and who began his banking career with Manufacturers Hanover Trust.  She is also survived by her son, Michael  Adamko, of Morristown, New Jersey; her daughter, Joanne Adamko Tatham and son-in-law Chuck Tatham of Beverly Hills, California; and two grandsons, Trevor and Nicholas.

    Introducing those two loving grandsons to international travel was one of “Grandmargie’s” great pleasures in life, and the close-knit family enjoyed many happy cruises and tours together.  Traveling the world with dear friends was one of her fondest passions, always with her beloved Joe at her side.
