Julian Castiglia was my best friend throughout my adult life. He was the kindest man you could ever meet. He literally would give you the shirt off his back to help you. Always opened his door to anyone that needed a place to stay. He was an expert solderer and had a vast knowledge on TV's and electronics. He admired the greats, Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla. He loved bringing out his Tesla coil to demonstrate for friends. He also enjoyed taking out his metal detector and finding old coins and vintage bottle caps. He loved Bob Dylan and Patti Smith. Still remember the time I took him out to see Patti Smith live in Asbury Park or somewhere near there. Camels were his favorite cigarette and Michelob was his beer of choice although budget constraints had brought him down to Miller High Life. When I learned of his passing I was devastated but smiled because I knew someday I would join him in heaven with his brother Joe, whom I also had the privilege of knowing and his mother, whom I also had the privilege of knowing. I always loved you Julian, and I always will, and I'm counting the days until I can see you again in heaven! Every life Julian ever touched became better for it! The world has suffered a great, great loss with Julian's passing. God bless you brother!!!
