Joseph P. Adase
January 15, 1933 ~ June 1, 2017 (age 84) 84 Years OldJoseph P. Adase, of Linden passed away on Thursday, June 1st at Haven Hospice at the JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 84.
Born in Elizabeth, he was a lifelong resident of Linden.
He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He then worked as a Truck Driver for IML Freight in Elizabeth for 25 years before retiring in the early 1980s. Joe enjoyed fixing cars, NY Mets baseball and spending time with his family and his dog Jesse.
His wife, Mary Ann died in 1999. He was also predeceased by his son, Steven M. Adase in 2013; brother, Frank Adase; and sisters, Mary Abate and Fannie Adase.
Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph P. Adase, Jr. and his wife, Marie of Colonia; son, Michael Adase of Aiken, South Carolina, and daughter-in-law, Joann Adase, wife of the late Steven Adase of Colonia; sisters, Lucille Adase of South Amboy, Patricia Kuc of Morganville and Roseann Vasquez of Monroe; 6 grandchildren, Danielle, Nicholas, Scott, Joseph, Leanne and Krysten; and 2 great-granddaughters.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 5th from 9 to 11 AM at the GOSSELIN FUNERAL HOME, 660 New Dover Road, Edison. Committal service and interment will follow in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia.
