Joan A (Field) Volker

          Joan  A. Volker, of Manalapan, died Friday, November 13th at home surrounded by her loving family.Joan was born in Jersey City and resided in Roselle for 9 years, Edison for 44 years and then moved to Manalapan in 2004.

She worked for the phone company in the early 50's and then worked for the Edison Board of Education for over 20 years. Joan graduated Nursing School and was capped on April 3rd, 1950. She was a Den Mother of Pack 44 in Colonia and was a Foster Mother for over 15 years. She was also in the Ladies Auxiliary for the HK Volunteer Fire Department in Edison.

Mrs. Volker was predeceased by her husband, Raymond H. Volker, Sr (2004) and her daughter, Lynda J. Volker (1952). Surviving are her children, Raymond H. Volker, Jr. and his wife Mary of Edison, Susan L. Sperber and her husband Lothar of Metuchen, Cathiann L. Volker-Lutz and her husband Richard of Manalapan, Sheryl L. Volker of Freehold and Alicia L. Volker of Vineland as well as 8 grandchildren – Kathie, Linda, Nicole, Raymond 3rd, Alexandra, Richard, Nicholas and Zachary and 4 great-grandchildren
