H. Curtis Whaley, of Edison died Saturday, May 23rd at home.  He was 68.  Born in Steubenville, Ohio, he lived in Cincinnati before moving to Edison in 1989.

He worked as a Papermaker for Garwood Paperboard in Garwood for 20 years before retiring in 1989.

He was a US Navy veteran, serving in the Vietnam War on the USS Guadalcanal (LPH-7) from 1967 to 1971.

Curt was always known for his willingness to help others in need and as the neighborhood handyman.  His favorite passion was spending time with his grandchildren and woodworking.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather/Pap Pap & great-grandfather.

He is predeceased by his brother, Ray Whaley; and sister, Joyce Rogers.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Rosalie (nee: Tomasi); sons, Scott Whaley (significant other, Shannon Devine) and Shawn Whaley; daughters, Sarah Whaley and Susan Whaley (husband, Diamond Roberts); brother, Gary Whaley; sisters, Eloise, Peggy, Geraldine and Betty; 8 grandchildren, Kiara, Kayla, Ethan, Nia, Samiyah, Amari, Lucas and Noah; and great-granddaughter, Avani.

A Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date.

Private cremation services held under the direction of the GOSSELIN FUNERAL HOME.
